Our Approuch
The 5E+IA MODEL
Engage: To capture students' interest and stimulate their curiosity.
Example: A teacher begins a lesson on photosynthesis by showing a time-lapse video of a plant growing and flowering, asking students what they think plants need to grow.
Explore: Provide students with hands-on experiences to investigate the concept
Example: Students are given different types of leaves and asked to observe and record their characteristics. They might conduct experiments to see how plants respond to various light conditions.
Explain: To allow students to articulate their understanding and to introduce formal definitions and concepts.
Example: After exploring, the teacher explains the process of photosynthesis, using diagrams and linking it to the students’ observations.
Elaborate: Helps extend students' understanding and apply it to new situations.
Example: Students apply their knowledge of photosynthesis by designing an experiment to test how different wavelengths of light affect plant growth.
Evaluate: To assess students' understanding and skills, providing feedback.
Example: Students complete a quiz or write a report explaining their experiment and its results, reflecting on what they learned about photosynthesis.
Intervention: Modalities are changed for students that did not grasp the concept. Concepts are revisited with visuals and changes in settings.
Acceleration: Students complete successfully master concepts progress and are getting the opportunities to explore concepts from difference perspectives.
